In the Measles-Rubella campaign, Commissioner Rewa division Dr. Ashok Kumar Bhargava with the country’s highest prestigious National Scotch Award for his exceptional contribution, outstanding performance, leadership, managerial efficiency, innovation and positive initiative. The award was presented to Dr. Bhargava, Commissioner, Rewa Division, at the Habitat Center in New Delhi by the Tax Commissions of Prime Minister Economic Advisory Council, Government of India Chairman and noted economist, Dr. Bibek Devarai, Secretary, Ministry of Water Power, Government of India, UP Singh and Scotch Foundation Chairman Sameer Kochhar. was done. The Scotch Award is given for the expansion of better health services in India, administrative coordination and innovations made in the district, division and state. The award plays an important role in the award selection process by the country’s distinguished economists, sociologists and individuals involved in planning, who decide whether the innovation done meets national standards. Rewa division has again received the distinction that apart from achieving first position in the state in Measles and Rubella campaign, it has also gained recognition at the national level. In the first month of September 2019, in the successful implementation of Dastak Abhiyan, Commissioner Rewa division Dr. Bhargava was also awarded the National Scotch Award.
Commissioner Dr. Bhargava, for this achievement, Collector of the four districts of the division, CEO, District Panchayat, Municipal Corporation officials, CMO of the urban body, CEO Janpad Panchayat, CMHO, Health Department, Women Child Development Department, Jail Department, Anganwadi Worker, ANM, ASHA workers, print and electronic media and other persons who contributed directly and indirectly in this campaign etc. Minister expressed heartfelt gratitude. Commissioner Dr. Bhargava has dedicated this award to the golden future of all the naval and promising children of Rewa division as children are the real wealth of the nation. Divisional Deputy Director Dr. NP Pathak and Dr. Deepak Pandey, Advisor Nutrition and Health played an important role in receiving the award.
It is noteworthy that under this campaign Rewa division was the first place in the state. In all four districts of the division, 23 lakh 69 thousand children between the age of 9 months to 15 years were targeted for 100 percent vaccination. Commissioner Dr. Bhargava assumed office as Divisional Commissioner on 21 January 2019. During that time, all children between the ages of 9 months to 15 years were being vaccinated under the Measles-Rubella campaign. Commissioner Dr. Bhargava reviewed this important campaign related to children’s health and started efforts for 100 percent vaccination. Last year, Rewa division had achieved only 20 percent achievement in this campaign. Commissioner Dr. Bhargava reviewed the campaign by holding meetings from time to time and gave necessary guidelines to the officers. Commissioner Dr. Bhargava himself reached the schools, Anganwadi centers, hostels etc. and got the children vaccinated in front of them. They vaccinated the children by reaching places where no one was able to see them. He got the children of laborers from different states vaccinated after reaching the construction sites. He got the children vaccinated in front of them in slums, imprisoned women, bandit affected areas, disabled hostels etc. Commissioner Dr. Bhargava visited several schools in Rewa, Sidhi, Singrauli and Satna districts and explained about vaccinations. A discussion was also broadcast on AIR by Commissioner Dr. Bhargava regarding Measles-Rubella campaign. Thus, due to the relentless efforts of Commissioner Dr. Bhargava, Rewa division achieved 100 percent achievement in the Measles-Rubella campaign. Measles-rubella is a deadly deadly disease spread by the virus. Measles disease can result in disability or untimely death in children. Similarly, rubella virus causes infection in children and women, which can make children disabled from birth itself. Vaccination is the only way to avoid these diseases.
