National Award on ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’
For better implementation of Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao scheme, the Central Government has selected Madhya Pradesh as the first state to perform best. On achieving first place, Dr. Ashok Kumar Bhargava, the then Commissioner of the Directorate of Women and Child Development and the current Commissioner of Rewa Division, was given the award on 24th January in New Delhi on National Girl Child Day.
Union Women and Child Development Minister Maneka Gandhi and Minister of State Dr. Virendra Kumar presented the award to Commissioner Dr. Bhargava. Haryana State Women and Child Development Minister Kavita Jain, National Women’s Commission President Rekha Sharma, Secretary Rakesh Srivastava and Director of Beti Bachao Abhiyan Ashok Kumar Yadav were present. Dr. Bhargava has been awarded for his outstanding work as Commissioner of Women and Child Development. It is noteworthy that this award is being given to five states across the country, in which Madhya Pradesh is at the first place. Principal Secretary Women and Child Development JN Consotia congratulated the Commissioner Dr. Bhargava on the achievement.
